Response to the pitch

I thought the pitch was successful. I think that from using a timetable of dates to keep on track with both filming editing and group discussions we managed to keep on task unless unforeseen things such as a change in actor availability changes. From creating the animatic, i found that it will help us in the long run as it gives a good overview of what the final product may look like. I was very happy with the song and artist choice as I thought it gave us a good margin and genre to work with as the meanings behind the lyrics can be twisted and changed during the narrative and performances. Overall I am happy about the outcome of the final piece considering the troubles that were had during editing with problems such as outfits of actors, as like Mahida has said we thought that Hannah was dressed too casually for the home scene, however I think we worked round it well. I felt that we have also picked very good actors in general for our piece as they knew what they were doing and worked to a very high standard and sacrificed a lot of time for us.

We have used our storyboard and put the images to music to create an animatic, this gives us a sense of what our final piece may look like if it comes together as we want it.

Research into similar artists within Atlantic records

Atlantic Records are notoriously famous for signing male solo artists that sing pop and love songs, along with Paolo Nutini, Atlantic records have Jason Mraz, James Blunt and Trey Songz under their label. These artists are known for their ability to produce mass selling indie/pop songs based around the same subject of love and loss. Although Paolo Nutini may not be the most well known of the 4 artists he, along with James Blunt are the only artists out of this group that's debut album has gone over 4x platinum. Paolo Nutini has kept a low profile in the music industry which may be why he is not as well known as other artists from the same era record label, although Nutini performs at almost all major festivals he has never headlined unlike the others. Although some may say that James Blunt, Jason Mraz and Trey Songz sold our their original intent of making music that they liked to sell albums for pop and radio use. However Paolo has stayed true to his way of making music and has not changed to sell more records.
