Evaulation On Performance

I believe that our music production had gone well. We have achieved a lot as a group for the last few months and we should all be proud of ourselves. Working with Ishma, Mahida and Joe was a great experience and I think we produced a good music video production.
We believe we could have done much better such as using more band members and probably a different song so that the timing and lip synching would all work together.Other than that, I believe we should all be pleased with the outcome and wish for the the best.

Poster To See Leo Blue

This poster to is to advertise our artist ( Leo Blue) to the audience and to 

persuade the primary target audience to come with the free entry pass. This will allow the artist 

to be well known and start his journey in becoming famous and well know. I believe the 'Free Entry' is a good marketing technique in order to have more audience to come who can then spread the word about the artist and get to search him up. This would increase awareness of the artist and could be a selling point to get the consumers to invest in the album.

The location we have chosen is a well known location , being a school, we will be putting posters up around the school in way to get the message around. This makes it another marketing technique as it is a popular area to gather audience to attend and the more individuals attend the more the awareness of the artist being spread around.

I have used the original font at the top in bold to make it eye catching for the consumers attention to be focused on the poster. I have used a white font as it contrasts with background and makes the text come out more. 

I have also used the image of the artist so the audience can see the artist that they would be willing to go and watch him perform live. I believe that we have related our poster to others as it not different from others, specially posters from our genre. Using the star image to be the face of the poster has been seen done by many artist such as; ( Paolo Nutini, James Morrison, James Blunt etc.).

I believe that the poster is very unique, interesting and attention seeking and would be a great way to pitch our artist to the general public .

Response to the pitch

I thought the pitch was successful. I think that from using a timetable of dates to keep on track with both filming editing and group discussions we managed to keep on task unless unforeseen things such as a change in actor availability changes. From creating the animatic, i found that it will help us in the long run as it gives a good overview of what the final product may look like. I was very happy with the song and artist choice as I thought it gave us a good margin and genre to work with as the meanings behind the lyrics can be twisted and changed during the narrative and performances. Overall I am happy about the outcome of the final piece considering the troubles that were had during editing with problems such as outfits of actors, as like Mahida has said we thought that Hannah was dressed too casually for the home scene, however I think we worked round it well. I felt that we have also picked very good actors in general for our piece as they knew what they were doing and worked to a very high standard and sacrificed a lot of time for us.

Response To Our Pitch

I believe out pitch had been a success. I believe that the use to making a schedule of times and dates to film was a good enough preparation in order to keep progressing. The animatic gave us a sense of realisation of what the music video should look like. I was happy with the introduction of the music video, which was in synch and had good camera shots. This ensured us that we were on track to produce a good music video. The use of prop and transitions between shots had also emerged well and represented time into the future, to speed up the narrative. Conor who was the musician with the guitar showed a real use of depth and meaning to look like a performer to go with the music. It looked good with good shots from the back and the use of spot lights to put the emphaisim that he is a performer and to make him stand out. What I didn't really like was some of the shots taken at Richmond Park. I believe that we could of used much more footage in order to have more footage to edit. Nevertheless I believe our pitch went well and that our group should individually be proud of themselves.

Editing: Music Video

Here is a snap behind the editing of our music video. As you can see, we're uploading footage and 

starting to edit the the footages in order for them to be in synch with 

the song. We are using the MAC as it 

provided us with Final Cut Express which we believe can help us with out with the editing of the music

video and also to add other effects and transitions.

Finished Animatic

We have used our storyboard and put the images to music to create an animatic, this gives us a sense of what our final piece may look like if it comes together as we want it.

Response to the Pitch

I was very happy with our song choice, i liked the artist and i wasn't prepared to produce a video for a upbeat song. However i wasn't really happy with out storyboard. I liked the narrative and the basic ideas of the band etc, but we didn't actually decide what order things would go in and how it would be put together which i felt really worried about as it is really important. I think our locations were perfectly picked, and our actors were perfect for the part. I agree with what Mahida had said about the costume for the girl. I think this happened because of the last minute choice to film as we weren't sure who we were actually going to use for the role of Caroline. I think we have don really well seeing as we weren't actually that organised and that we didn't have time. But i'm really happy with the outcome, i think the editing has made such a different seeing as we didn't have a lot of footage to work with.

My response to the pitch.

At first we started off with an unclear idea of what we were exactly planning on doing however once we constructed the storyboard everything made more sense. Throughout filming we decided to cut some bits out but from the start I was happy with what we were doing. I really liked the concept of the girl (Caroline) finding out that the boy (Leo) cheated on her with Martha. I thought that our locations were very good and captured the emotions of the story very well. The only one thing I was unsure about was the costume of Caroline. In the scene that she is doing, she is wearing tracksuit bottoms with a cardigan. The cardigan was a good idea, however, I was not sure about the tracksuit bottoms. But once we started editing, we realised that you couldn't really tell and we also realised that even if you can tell, it doesn't look bad because of the location (inside a house).
Overall I am very happy with our pitch.

Research into similar artists within Atlantic records

Atlantic Records are notoriously famous for signing male solo artists that sing pop and love songs, along with Paolo Nutini, Atlantic records have Jason Mraz, James Blunt and Trey Songz under their label. These artists are known for their ability to produce mass selling indie/pop songs based around the same subject of love and loss. Although Paolo Nutini may not be the most well known of the 4 artists he, along with James Blunt are the only artists out of this group that's debut album has gone over 4x platinum. Paolo Nutini has kept a low profile in the music industry which may be why he is not as well known as other artists from the same era record label, although Nutini performs at almost all major festivals he has never headlined unlike the others. Although some may say that James Blunt, Jason Mraz and Trey Songz sold our their original intent of making music that they liked to sell albums for pop and radio use. However Paolo has stayed true to his way of making music and has not changed to sell more records.

Costume Planning

There are certain costumes which are typical of our genre. Below i will be highlighting typical outfits which we will using. They wont be there exact ones but these are going to be our starting points when dressing our actors. They are either natural colours or black and white. The actor will be wearing either skinny jeans or chinos, dark t shirts or printed long sleeved shirts, cardigans or knitted jumpers with either trainers or boat shoes. These sorts of clothing are typical of an Indie artists and its a convention from music videos which we really should stick to.
